Holly, this is such a thought provoking piece. I am a complete outsider to the world of graphic design, but you explained really clearly why print design (as opposed to digital design) resonates more with you. I especially loved the fireplace analogy!
Back when the printing press came around, some people considered it to be totally blasphemous to their way of living. But now we can't seem to live without it. I wonder if in that way technology/ internet will become this generation's version of the printing press... and I wonder what new innovation will come next to replace or supplement it!
